Reminder – Meals for the week of March 30th will be delivered at designated areas tomorrow (Monday – March 30, 2020) from 11:00 – 12:00.

Students that may still need technology or need to exchange a chrome book due to repair needs may do so on Tuesdays from 4:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Mr. Deacon, our technology coordinator, will have “curb side” service for students and parents to drive up and exchange the chrome book without leaving their vehicle. The station will be set up in front of the high school.

Students should start distance learning today. If you are having any technical difficulty, please contact your teacher(s) initially. If you are unable to contact a teacher or resolve the problem, please contact Bill Deacon at 740-858-3880 or by email at William.deacon@westsenators.org.

Due to recent developments in the COVID-19 emergency, we will only be delivering meals on Mondays. At that time students will be given a week’s supply of meals. We will deliver meals from 11:00 – 12:00 at the designated locations.

Reminder: Students should be checking in with their teachers by email or google classroom no later than today. Assignments will begin being required on Monday. A hotspot is available in the high school parking lot for students that may be having difficulty accessing lessons. The hotspot will only work with Chrome Books.

Update: There is a change to the meal delivery schedule. As of March 23rd, meals will be delivered on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Students will be given two meals to ensure they have food for each day. The regularly scheduled March board meeting has been cancelled.

Parents, please ensure that your child has responded to the email messages sent by each of their teachers. This will help us determine who may need assistance with distance learning technology. Thank you.

For those parents and students that are unable to obtain needed technology between the hours of 10:00 – 2:00, personnel will be available at the school from 5:00 – 7:00 this Wednesday and Thursday (March 18th and 19th). If you have any questions or concerns during our closure due to the COVID -19 crises, you may call us between the hours of 9:00 – 2:00 (740-858-1103).

While school and buildings are closed to the public. This week, students may enter the building between the hours of 10 am to 2 pm to retrieve books and other items they may need for distance learning (i.e. chrome books, if the student does not have a device at home), and they may pick up any personal items they may have left in their lockers. Students and parents are asked not to linger in order to ensure social distancing.

In order to provide nutrition for our students, beginning Tuesday - March 17, 2020, Washington Nile Local School District will be providing meals to any youth in our district that is under the age of eighteen (18). Due to state and federal guidelines, children must be present to receive the meal. You may “pick-up” meals at several locations throughout our district. Notice: The Earl Thomas Conley memorial concert originally scheduled for this Saturday is postponed. The concert is rescheduled for May 9.

The senior class will be holding a blood drive at the high school from 9:00 - 2:00 on Tuesday - March 10th. No appointment needed.
