The staff at the Washington-Nile Local School District takes hazing, harassment, and bullying very seriously. Any reported incidents are investigated according to our district Bullying Policy and state guidelines. Below are the number of reported bullying incidents for the current and previous school years. Washington-Nile Hazing, Harassment, and Bullying Policy

In compliance with requirements by the Ohio Department of Education, the Washington-Nile Local School District maintains a testing security policy. This document describes our procedures for maintaining the security and confidentiality of material that is part of state-mandated standardized testing. Washington-Nile Testing Security Policy

The mission of the One-to-One Program in the Washington-Nile Local School District is to create a collaborative, engaging, and technology-rich learning environment for all our students. By providing digital tools to individual students, we empower students to become self-directed, engage more fully with the course material, and become responsible, life-long learners and users of technology. This policy outlines the responsibilities of each party that is participating in the One-to-One Program: the student, and the parent(s)/guardian(s), and the School District.

Washington-Nile One-to-One Program Policy

The Washington-Nile Local School District understands the importance of technology in an education environment. Technology provides users with the ability to communicate more effectively, participate in meaningful discussions on diverse topics, collaborate on projects, and access enormous databases of information. These capabilities make technology a valuable educational resource to both students and staff in our district. The goals of the Washington-Nile Local School District in providing technology services is to promote educational excellence in our schools by modeling and facilitating the proper use of technology among our students and staff.

Washington-Nile Acceptable Use Policy

Please be aware that Washington-Nile Local School District, either directly or through a technology provider, is electing to generally monitor all school-issued devices (as that term is defined by R.C. 3319.325). The monitoring will include student interactions with school-issued devices (e.g., keystrokes and web-browsing activity). The District generally monitors these features for the noncommercial education purpose of instruction, technical support, and/or exam proctoring. Additionally, these features are generally monitored as a necessary precaution for preventing and/or responding to threats to life or safety.

The Board of Education will provide the necessary textbooks and/or electronic textbooks required by the course of study free of charge for its students. The Board may charge fees for any additional materials used in the course of instruction. The Board may furnish these additional materials free of charge to students determined to have a serious financial need.  Any waiver of fees shall be made pursuant to Policy 6152.01.

 The Board will not charge a fee to a student who is eligible for a free lunch under the National School Lunch Act and the Child Nutrition Act of 1966 for any materials needed to enable the student to participate in a course of instruction. However, the Board may nonetheless charge a fee for materials needed for a student to participate in extracurricular activities or student enrichment programs or tools, equipment, and materials that are necessary for workforce-readiness career-technical education training program that may be retained by the students after completion of the course.

 School fees shall be paid in advance for each school term at the time of initial registration or initial enrollment.
