from the SCHD: The Scioto County Health Department is offering one more Pfizer evening vaccine clinic for 16 and 17 year olds on Tuesday, March 30, 4:30 - 6:15 pm, in the Scioto County Courthouse lobby. There are only 22 remaining slots in this clinic. Parents interested in having their 16- or
17-year-old child vaccinated must call our schedulers at 740-302-3801 or 740-302-8277 to schedule. Pfizer is the only vaccine approved for 16 and 17 year olds. Due to the limited number of doses available, there
will be no walk-ins for this clinic. All 16 and 17 year olds must be
accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

On Tuesday, March 9th, Portsmouth West High School will be administering the state sponsored ACT. This is a free exam given to all Juniors in the state of Ohio. All 11th graders will report to the high school before 8:00 am. Freshmen, Sophomores and Seniors will be on a two- hour delay. Buses will run on a regular schedule. Students who ride the bus will remain in the cafeteria until dismissed to classes. Juniors who attend on Wednesdays and Thursdays will be released after the test is completed. Congratulations to our Girls Basketball team on their win against Valley. With that win, the girls finish their season with a 14-7 record and a second place finish in the S.O.C. and a lot of momentum going in to next year.

Seniors: Outside scholarships are starting to pick up and In-House Scholarships will be opening soon (exact date TBD). It is very important that you start getting your required materials together so that you are ready. Things you will need based on the requirements of several scholarships: Copy of your most recent transcript (college if applicable), activities list, at least 2 letters of recommendation (some require 3), possibly your EFC from your FAFSA/Student Aid Report, acceptance letter, and goals essay. This is not a complete list but should cover many of the items needed. Please continue to check your West email and make sure to join the Senior Info Remind if you haven't already.
