First 4 x 100 freestyle relay swam last night in over 3 years by Evan Stiles, Colton Hill, Gabe Swanner and Austin Ramsey. What a tough event!

Student and Staff picture day will be Tuesday, 10/31, beginning at 8am. The Yearbook Committee encourages everyone - students, faculty, and staff - to get their school picture taken. They would like to have a current picture for the yearbook.

Reminder: Our football team will be in the regional playoffs this Friday versus the Heath Bulldogs. The game will be at Portsmouth West High School stadium; kickoff will be at 7:00 pm. Because it is an Ohio High School Athletic Association event, passes will not be accepted (including student passes). Everyone entering the gate will need an OHSAA ticket. Discounted tickets are available online. Online adult tickets are $12.00 and online student tickets are $9.00. To secure tickets online, go to ohsaa.org then click the tickets tab, select football, select Region 19, and scroll down to find our game. Admission at the gate is $15 for both adults and students. If you have any questions, you may contact the high school at (740) 858-1103.

Per OHSAA rules: Spectators are not allowed to form a tunnel on the field, use noise makers, or release confetti at playoff games.

South Central Ohio Educational Service Center’s
Summer Enrichment Scholarship Program for Gifted Students
Parents, Teachers and Guidance Counselors:
The Gifted Services Department of the South Central Ohio Educational Service Center offers scholarships to students currently enrolled in grades 5 through 11 who have been identified as Gifted (through Ohio Dept. of Education approved assessment) to attend Summer Enrichment Programs.

Volleyball plays at home on Oct. 19, Thursday. Start time is 7:00 PM - presale tickets can be purchased online as in the past few years. These tickets will be $8.00 for adults and $5.00 for students. At the gate, there will be a cash option, but all tickets at the gate will be $10.00
Soccer Plays at Lynchburg-Clay Oct. 19. Start time is 6:30. The ticket options are the same as volleyball.
Football - plays at Wheelersburg Friday night. Presale tickets will go on sale tomorrow (Tuesday, 10/17) in the HS office.

Reminder: The price of admission to the football game Friday versus Oak Hill will be $6. The additional dollar will go to the UCAN Scholarship Fund, which provides thousands of dollars in scholarships for West students.

Fifty scholarships have been awarded to 24 Portsmouth West High School graduates through the Scioto Foundation for the 2023 - 2024 academic year, totaling $65,681.00!!!!
