Welcome Back to Football @ The Rock!
After our extended absence, football will return to the Rock this Friday September 2nd as our Portsmouth West Senators will take on the Adena Warriors. Please join us in the stadium or online as we break in the new FieldTurf. Student pre-sale tickets will be available during the school day for $3.00, all tickets at the gate are $5.00.
In addition to the change in playing surface we do have a few other changes to highlight this year as well.
This year our Athletic Boosters will be hosting a “tailgate party” in Celebration Plaza (outside the ticket gate) from 5:00pm-6:15pm before each home game this year. There will be games and concessions will be open for all to enjoy as we ramp up to kickoff.
Additionally, entrance to the stadium will be at the main ticket gates this year, Both ticket booths will be open and a separate “Pass Gate” will be available as well. The fence to the lower parking lot will be opened at the end of the game to allow for visiting fans to exit more quickly. (Diagram below).
As always, vehicular traffic behind the school building by the ticket gates will be for emergency vehicles and handicap parking only.

Good Evening! Each year we require that parents complete emergency medical, mailing address, health, and a variety of other updates using our FinalForms system. If you have not done so already, please complete your students FinalForms for the 2022-2023 school year. It is extremely important to complete these forms as quickly as possible as we must have the most up to date emergency medical information, as well as a host of other pieces of information which are collected in the forms. Please login to FinalForms (https://washingtonnile-oh.finalforms.com/) and complete your students forms.

Parents, Guardians and Students of Portsmouth West High School
I would like to take this opportunity to welcome you and your children back to Portsmouth West High School and the start of the 2022-2023 school year. I am looking forward to this year and being a part of our students making an impact in our community and county in academics, the arts and athletics. To our new students and in-coming Freshman, this is the beginning of a new chapter in your lives. No doubt, there will be a lot of anxiety this evening and tomorrow morning. Relax, everything will be fine. You will make new friends share stories and memories that will last a lifetime. It is our goal at Portsmouth West High School to provide a safe learning environment for all students to succeed. Our teachers will challenge you to be better students in the classroom so you are well prepared for your future. I encourage you to take advantage of the many extra-curricular activities that we offer. We will announce when our clubs will hold their initial meetings once we get the year started. Each morning, I will email you daily announcements to keep you in the loop of what’s going on throughout the week. Parents, if at any time you have a question or concern please feel free to contact or email me. This year will go by quickly; with the blink of the eye it will be “Graduation Night” 2023. Everyone enjoy this year, parents take many pictures, stay involved in your child’s education and we will see you tomorrow.
