The Portsmouth West community would like to extend a warm welcome to our new girls' high school basketball coach, Doran Martin. Coach Martin leaves his current position as the women’s assistant basketball coach at Georgetown College. Prior to his stint at Georgetown, he also coached at Dawson-Bryant High School (2023-24) and Shawnee State University (2015-21).
Coach Martin was a graduate of and standout basketball player at Clay High School. He went on to earn his B.A. in Exercise Science from Shawnee University and Master’s in Applied Exercise Science from Concordia University-Chicago in 2018. With his extensive coaching experience and academic background in exercise science, Coach Martin will make a tremendous impact on our strong girls' basketball program.
