Portsmouth West Preschool

Washington-Nile Local School District’s Early Childhood Center (Preschool Program) is a 5 STAR Quality Rated Program.  The Early Childhood Center provides a strong foundation for young children preparing to enter kindergarten. Children explore, through developmentally appropriate play - with Ohio’s new Birth – Kindergarten Entry Early Learning and Development Standards as the focal point for each child’s growth and development.  Head Preschool teachers (Amy Berry and Alisha Adkins) are highly qualified professionals with bachelor’s degrees in the field of early childhood education.  These teachers work in close collaboration with our Head Start Teachers.

 

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Preschool children must be 4 years of age by September 30, must not be eligible for kindergarten, meet all eligibility guidelines, and must be potty trained.  A copy of the birth certificate must be submitted with application.
  • Gross family income must be at or below 200% on Federal Poverty Guidelines.  Family must provide documentation with application.  Two consecutive paystubs or 1040 annual tax report will be accepted.
  • Completed application (Eligibility Screening Tool on file).
