College Credit Plus Updates
Due to the Coronavirus epidemic and the closure of Shawnee State University, the deadlines for the College Credit Plus applications have been extended. Below is the message from Shawnee State. Also attached is the application. The application may be emailed to: droberts@shawnee.edu.
We will conditionally admit CCP students. If you have incomplete applications, send them to us; or if you have students you know want to participate this year but have not sent you their application, tell them to fill out the application and send it to us. Attached is a copy of the application. We will conditionally admit students without all of the required signatures, tests scores, or high school transcripts. Following are our new deadlines for completed applications:
o May 1 for students wanting to enroll in summer courses
o August 1 for students wanting to enroll in fall courses
By these dates, students must have all parts of their application complete. These deadlines are in line with legislation that will hopefully be coming from the State soon.
May orientations have been cancelled. For students taking summer courses, we will hold individual or small group orientations, either in person, online, or via video conference, depending on COVID-19 guidelines at that time. For fall entry, we are working on scheduling new orientation dates in early August and will get those dates to you as soon as possible.
Testing. Testing is not possible at this time. Accuplacer’s remote testing vendor, Examinity, is closed until mid-April due to the pandemic. Accuplacer is working on solutions and has said they will publicize those in the next few weeks. ACT has cancelled April and May testing. The legislation coming from the state will more than likely be urging us to accept students based on GPA and other measures. Shawnee State University will comply with whatever directive comes from the state.
