Mrs. Callihan and Landmark Moments Fellowship Program

As part of the Landmark Moments Fellowship Program, teachers at South Gallia High School, along with Portsmouth West history teacher, Mrs. Carolyn Callihan, presented a lesson for Mr. Fowler's American History students on the government, industry, and travel opportunities in several New England states, including Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.  In addition to learning about the area, students had pancakes made with real maple syrup from Vermont and blueberry muffins, made with Maine blueberries.  As a special surprise, Mr. Shafer brought in a live lobster, donated by Red Lobster in Huntington, WV, for the students to observe, as part of the lesson on Maine's economy.  This program is directed by Dr. Denise Shockley, Gallia-Vinton ESC.  Pictured are Mrs. Linda Donohue, Mrs. Dian Fleming, Mrs. Carolyn Callihan, Mr. Jeff Fowler, Mr. Ryan Shafer, and Mrs. Jane Ann Slagle, ESC Coordinator.
