March 18, the Portsmouth West Lady Senators hosted a tournament to help raise money for Melanoma Awareness and in honor of a former West Softball player and graduate, Angie Arnett. The players and coaches wore the #16 (Angie’s high school number) in her honor.

Portsmouth West Lady Senators adopted the platform this year to raise awareness for Melanoma, and we hope to continue this charitable tournament every year.

There were 10 total teams that participated in round robin scrimmages throughout the day. The teams were from the Ohio Valley Conference (OVC), Southern Ohio Conference (SOC), and other teams from around Ohio. The scrimmages were held at the Portsmouth West Little league fields at Dr. Singleton’s Park. It was a great community event that was held in conjunction with Andy Arnett, and the Portsmouth West Little League Association.
