Washington-Nile Local School District's Early Childhood Center (Preschool Program) is a 5 STAR Quality Rated Program. The Early Childhood Center provides a strong foundation for young children preparing to enter kindergarten. Children explore, though developmentally appropriate play - with Ohio's new Birth-Kindergarten Entry Early Learning and Development Standards as the focal point for each child's growth and development. Head Preschool teachers (Amy Berry and Alisha Adkins) are highly qualified professional with bachelor's degrees in the field of early childhood education. These teachers work in close collaboration with our Head Start Teachers.
Preschool children must be 4 years of age by September 30, must not be eligible for kindergarten, meet all eligibility guidelines, and must be potty trained. Washington-Nile Schools provides transportation to/from children's home to PWES on the elementary bus routes/times. Preschool is scheduled for Monday-Thursday each week.

Families are asked to complete an Eligibility Screening Tool to let school staff know that you are interested in the program. Preschool spots a filled based on state guidelines/criteria: income, family needs and each child's age . If a child qualifies for a spot in the Preschool Program, parents will then be directed to complete registration paperwork and complete a physical and dental exam.
