Mr. Randy Arnett is the 2017, Washington-Nile Alumni Hall of Fame recipient. A reception and awards banquet was held this past August where he was honored by family, friends, and alumni for his outstanding and lifelong commitment to both school and community.
Randy attended PWHS from 1969-1973, participating in football, basketball, and baseball, receiving many honors for his athletic achievements. He was a varsity basketball starter all four years; All SOC honors for three years; Scioto County League All-Star for three years. In his senior year, the SOC Championship, team captain and led the team in free throw percentage and assists. He was also the first player in school history to score 1,000 points with a total of 1,044.

In varsity football, his freshman year he received most improved player. As a senior, he was Most Valuable Defensive Back, SOC All-Star 1971; SOC All-Star 1972; All State Honorable Mention 1972. Randy was a four-year starter on the Senator Baseball team. He went on to Muskingum College where he started on both the basketball and baseball teams. While playing baseball for Muskingum he earned the record for the longest home run ever hit there. The basketball team also won conference titles in 1973-74 and 1974-75.
Randy returned to his hometown and in 1992 became the President & CEO of Southern Ohio Medical Center, where under his leadership many new facilities and services have been brought into our community. He has also served on the Board of Directors for; the Scioto Foundation, the Portsmouth Area Chamber of Commerce, Southern Ohio Partnership, the Ohio Valley Red Cross, and the United Way Scioto County where under his guidance nearly $100,000 was raised last year alone.
